Cloverdale Arts Alliance: Annual Juried Sculpture Exhibit 2011

The Cloverdale Art Alliance presents its annual sculpture exhibition at the Cloverdale downtown outdoor plaza. A gathering of sculptures from all around different areas of the art community will be present in this special sculptural event. Past sculpture winners include Robert Michael Smith, Bryan Tedrick and Robert Holmes.

Here’s a schedule for their event:

  • March 4, 2011 – Deadline for receipt of entries
  • March 18, 2011 – Artists will be notified of selection to exhibit
  • June 1, 2011 – Installation of sculptures to Cloverdale downtown plaza
  • June 4, 2011 – Judging of Exhibit, Opening Reception, presentation of Awards
  • September 28, 2011 – Removal of Sculptures

The 2011 Art Fair at Laumeier Sculpture Park

The 2011 art fair will be a three day event in the month of May at Laumeier Sculpture Park and will host about one hundred fifty different artists from across the nation. These 150 personalities are hand selected by judges out of thousands of applicants, so you can be sure that your time viewing their collection will not go to waste.

Sculpture jewelry and sculpted art will be ever-present at the venue. Materials used for creations could be in wood, ceramics, mixed media, glass and others. The show is also a competition for the selected artists in which a total of 11,000.00$ will be given as prize reward. It will be sponsored in part by the City of Sunset Hills and Artmart.

There will be entertainment as well as wine tasting and fine music during the opening night. An exhibit of students’ artworks will also be present, participated by students from the neighboring colleges and universities. The University of the Arts London: Open Sculpture Competition

galleryCelebrating the theme of British Paralympians, the UAL is now holding an open sculpture competition on the theme of paralympic sport. The British paralympians won 102 medals in the recent Beijing Olympics and came is second overall in the medals table.

The Paralympic motto of “Spirit in Motion” must be reflected on the entries wishing to participate in this competition. A prize of £1000 will be at stake, as well as the immortalization of the winning piece as a part of the collection known as “Sculpture and Sport, A Celebration for 2012 to be exhibited in Oxford, Bath and London during 2012. Submission will be done online with a web gallery to showcase entries to the public as well.

The International Art Expo 2011 at New York City

The world’s largest fine art trade show…

The Art Expo will be held during March 25-27 at pier 94 on the Hudson River. Among the artists participating will be mixed media sculptors Roswitha Zentler-von Helly, Fabienne Bismuth Jennifer Contini Enderby. During its long 32 year history, the Artexpo New York has brought together some of the world’s most renowned artists, including Andy Warhol, Keith Haring and Leroy Neiman.

The event will feature some of the world’s most esteemed artists and galleries as well as thousands of dealers, collectors and enthusiasts from several continents. They also offer three days of conference classes and seminars regarding the different media and styles of art. Independent emerging artists will be glad to hear that the SOLO show aspect of the Expo will be returning this year along with the “Best in Show awards” to be judged by the SOLO jury.
